Welcome Team Training
Required Welcome Team Trainings:
These trainings are for those individuals who want to be a part of a Welcome Team. Volunteers can come into these trainings as individuals with no assigned Team yet known to them. Or they may come as individuals that already know who will be in their group. If a volunteer is the latter, this group’s individuals do not necessarily have to attend the each training at the same time as their Team. The only requirement is that every volunteer completes all these 3 trainings prior to being able to help their first family.
- New Volunteer Orientation: This training introduces a brand new volunteer to the International Welcome Center and our mission. This training is approximately 1.5 hours long.

- Please note: current volunteers are not required to attend this training to be on a Welcome Team due to it being review for them. But they are certainly welcome to come!
- For volunteers new to the IWC, this orientation must be taken first. An individual cannot register for other courses until this one is completed. Any trainings after this one can be taken in any order a volunteer chooses.

- Introduction to Resettlement Course: This training is an online course done by our affiliate, World Relief, using their Thinkific Workshop portal. It is free and takes approximately 45 minutes to complete. * (I am waiting to hear back from the WR staff to learn more about the process of how our volunteers will take this).*
- Welcome Team Training: This training reviews the responsibilities of a Welcome Team. It also equips volunteers with the tools necessary to carry out these responsibilities. This class is 2 hours in length.

Intro to Resettlement:
This is completed online at the volunteer’s discretion. Instructions to access this class will be given at the New Volunteer Orientation or directly from Whitney if you are a current volunteer.
