Our Annual Event, Uncommon Courage: Where Hope Rises & Home Begins, is a chance to stand together and ensure refugee and immigrant families in Greater Akron continue to receive the support they need to build new lives with dignity, stability, and hope.

For refugee and immigrant families in Greater Akron, uncommon courage is the daily work of beginning again: facing uncertainty, rebuilding stability, and moving toward hope and home.
But courage should not have to stand alone. Families need trusted people beside them as they pursue citizenship, navigate unfamiliar systems, and move toward stability.
Over the last year, the International Welcome Center came alongside 137 foreign-born neighbors (over 40 families) with practical support, legal guidance, and relationships that help hope rise and home begin.
When you purchase your tickets to attend, you help create the kind of steady, personal support that turns welcome into something real: a relationship, a ride, a legal pathway, a conversation, a home.
